About Racial Discrimination

American law states that individuals are not to be treated unfairly based on their immutable characteristics, including race. In fact, race has often been an especially foremost issue where discrimination is concerned. Generally speaking, the concept of racial discrimination tends to be widely understood, but there is also information about racial discrimination that some people may not know. Though in most circumstances, racial discrimination is illegal, there are exceptions. In education, for example, a school may be allowed to place a non-English speaking person into a class for additional attention. Also, after a recent addition to the Civil Rights act, minorities are not the only persons protected from discrimination. People of Caucasian descent are protected from discrimination, sometimes known as reverse discrimination, in a similar manner as minorities. To learn more about racial discrimination, refer to the federal legislation and the laws that apply in your state.
