Discrimination against those with disabilities occurs in many situations. Of these occurrences, disability discrimination in workplace situations is one of the most common. It can often be difficult to determine if an individual has been subjected to disability discrimination in the workplace. In order to decide if an individual's rights have been violated, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) can be consulted. In 1990, the ADA was signed into law and provides the current guidelines for appropriate treatment and rights of the disabled.
