Black discrimination has been an issue throughout America's history. The term refers to actions that are taken against blacks based on their race that deny them of equal rights. Black discrimination is a type of race discrimination, and as such, is subject to the race discrimination laws that exist in the country. Since 1865, the Civil Rights Act has made it illegal for The laws were not fully recognized initially, but the later passing of additional legislation such as the the Civil Rights Act of 1871 and the Civil Rights Act of 1968 prompted full legal intolerance of black discrimination. According to these laws,occurrences of black discrimination, including racial profiling, segregation, and denial of employment, are unlawful. Blacks are also protected from discrimination though additional federal legislation in regards to employment, housing, public accommodations, voting, arrest, and other activities.
