Black People Discrimination

In the United States, the unlawful practice of racial discrimination can extend to all races, but has mostly been an issue for black people. After slavery ended, there initially were many laws that still allowed racial segregation, forcing black people to be subject to constant discrimination. In 1964, the Civil Rights act enforced a new law that racial discrimination was illegal, specifically in settings of the government, employment, schools, housing, and hiring. In employment, racial discrimination that involves not hiring an employee, denying a promotion, or otherwise harassing has been determined unlawful. In housing, racial discrimination has also been a problem, but federal law also makes it illegal for housing providers to discriminate against tenants or buyers seeking housing. Supporting the federal laws, each state or even city can implement laws that explain and offer protection in greater detail. Although many people often fail to recognize this, racial discrimination also includes discriminating based on the characteristics of a race, such as a person's hair color or, in extreme cases, even height.
