Catholics Discrimination

Catholics discrimination is a form of discrimination that may be taken against a person who follows Catholicism. This form of discrimination involves unfair treatment of a person, usually in a way that denies them of equal opportunity. Since Catholicism was predominant until Protestants formed a separate denomination , many people may possess negative feelings about the Catholic faith, and project those feelings towards followers of the religion in the form of discrimination. Catholics discrimination, like other forms of religious discrimination, violates federal law in the United States.

By means of the constitution, citizens are granted with the right to exercise the religion of their choice. According to the Civil Rights Act, citizens are also specifically protected from religious discrimination, especially so in the areas of employment and education. In employment, employers cannot refuse to hire a candidate based on their religion, and must also allow them to pray at appropriate times and observe religious holidays. In education, Title IV states that students are allowed to follow religious dress, pray at reasonable appropriate times, and also details that teachers cannot religiously harass students
