Male Discrimination

Male discrimination refers to actions from taken on a male because of his sex. Normally, discrimination of this sort, called sex-based discrimination, is only discussed in regards to females. In settings like the workplace, females are often noted to be discriminated against, losing opportunities that would have been given if they had been a male. Likewise, males can also be denied opportunities because of their sex. The most common form of male discrimination can be seen in employment, where males may be stereotyped to only work in masculine jobs, thus being denied for traditionally "non-masculine" jobs like secretarial or beauty-related positions. From a legal perspective, male discrimination violates nationwide legislation, including the Equal Pay Act and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act.
