Muslim Women Discrimination

Muslim women discrimination is an issue that happens not only in predominantly Muslim countries, but in the United States as well. Currently, the population of Muslim women in America is growing constantly. According to the beliefs that Muslim women follow, they may be required to do things that, while untraditional to Americans, is necessary to their religion. This may include wearing a head scarf known as a hijab or even covering their face.

In America, Muslim women are granted with the same religious freedoms, and have the right to practice these Muslim beliefs without discrimination. However, Muslim women are often times the target of discrimination because of these beliefs. Muslim women are protected by several laws, including federal legislation, that allows them to practice these beliefs, even in employment. Employers are required to accommodate the religious needs of these employees, which not only means they cannot discriminate in hiring, but that accommodations should be made for necessary dress guidelines.
