Muslims Discrimination

Muslims discrimination is one of several forms of religious discrimination occurs in the United States. In a general sense, Muslims discrimination or other religious discrimination consists of derogatory ideas, expressed or non-expressed, that are taken to towards a person because of the religious group they belong to. Legally, however, thoughts themselves do not constitute discrimination; these thoughts must be acted upon to be illegal. In the case of Muslims discrimination, those who are discriminated against belong to the Islamic religion. In the united States, discrimination of this type violates the constitution, as the first amendment grants religious freedoms to all citizens. According to the First Amendment, "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the exercise thereof." Citizens area also granted further protection other federal legislation of the Civil Rights Act, Fair Housing Act, and other state/local laws that may apply. Examples of unlawful discrimination can be seen in housing, education, and most commonly, employment.
