Muslims Discrimination In

Muslims discrimination in America has been prohibited by several laws. In the Bill of Rights, citizens are entitled to religious freedom, meaning they can exercise the religion of their choice. Federal legislation also prohibits religious discrimination in further depth, making it illegal for a person to be denied equal opportunity in housing, employment, education, or lending based on their religion. Of particular concern for Muslims, it is also unlawful for a person to be forced to violate their religious beliefs in various settings, except in extreme circumstances. In employment, this generally means that Muslim women are allowed to wear religious garments as well as observe religious holidays, and the same requirement applies in public schools. If religious discrimination occurs, there are agencies that can be reported to, depending on the setting in which the incident occurred, and the religious discrimination could possibly end in a lawsuit and damages for the guilty party.
