Sexual Orientation Discrimination

Sexual orientation discrimination occurs when an individual is treated unfairly based solely on his or her sexual orientation. This may include a variety of situations and laws do not define especially what discrimination acts are. Rather, they depict the mistreatment of an individual based on sexual orientation as being anything that contributes to the individual's inability to perform his or her job appropriately due to such events as harassment, neglect or other abuses. Although it is one of the newest of the discrimination types when compared to others, discrimination due to sexual orientation is punishable by law.
