Woman discrimination practices are unfortunate, but statistics reveal that they are still ever so common. Generally speaking, this type of discrimination is most noted within 3 primary forums - employment, education, and finances. In many cases, women may have the same qualifications as men, yet are not granted with the same opportunities, whether it be a job, loan, or scholarship. When this occurs, women can be placed at a significant loss, monetarily or even emotionally. However, there are laws in place to protect women from discrimination - the Fair Labor Standards Act governs wage discrimination, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 governs workplace discrimination, and there are also state laws concerning this issue.
