Woman Discrimination

Woman discrimination practices are unfortunate, but statistics reveal that they are still ever so common. Generally speaking, this type of discrimination is most noted within 3 primary forums - employment, education, and finances. In many cases, women may have the same qualifications as men, yet are not granted with the same opportunities, whether it be a job, loan, or scholarship. When this occurs, women can be placed at a significant loss, monetarily or even emotionally. However, there are laws in place to protect women from discrimination - the Fair Labor Standards Act governs wage discrimination, the Civil Rights Act of 1964 governs workplace discrimination, and there are also state laws concerning this issue. Women who believe they have been discriminated against based on their sex can sue and often times collect compensation for their losses.
