Workplace racial discrimination is an occurrence of discrimination of some type based solely on the individual's race. A variety of laws now are in place to protect individuals from any employer related discrimination. These laws start with the 1964 Civil Rights Act and there have been numerous other laws over the last years that help to define racial discrimination. Individuals who feel they have been discriminated against in the workplace, by their employer or by other employees, have the ability to file suit against those officials. In order to be successful, the individual must show that he or she was wrongly treated based solely on race.
